Oman business visa – guide

Entry options

  • Visa-free entry. Citizens of many countries can enter Oman visa-free for short stays, commonly up to 14 days, provided they hold a return ticket, accommodation and health insurance as required.
  • Tourist and visit e-visas through the Royal Oman Police e-visa system, for single or multiple entry and for different durations
  • Business visit visas, sponsored by an Omani company, for meetings and business activities
  • GCC residents of certain professions may be eligible for an e-visa on the basis of their GCC residence.

Eligibility and durations depend on nationality and change from time to time. Check the ROP's current rules, or ask us, before you travel.

What you can do on a visit

  • Attend meetings, viewings and trade events
  • Sign documents and open discussions with banks
  • Inspect premises and meet authorities

You cannot work for an Omani employer on a visit visa. Employment requires a work permit and residence visa.

Planning a setup trip

Planning your setup trip

Most of company formation in Oman can be done remotely with a power of attorney, so many founders make one well-planned trip:

Purpose When
Meet us and confirm the structure Before filing (optional)
Sign documents or a power of attorney Before filing, or at an Omani embassy abroad
View offices, warehouses or land Before signing a lease
Open the bank account After the CR is issued
Medical and biometrics for residence After the investor visa is approved

Combining the bank meeting with the residence formalities usually means one trip of about one to two weeks.

What a visit visa does not allow

A visit or business visa lets you attend meetings, sign documents and inspect premises. It does not allow you to work for an Omani company or to be employed locally — that needs investor residence or an employment visa.

How we help

We plan your trip around the setup timeline, book bank and medical appointments and prepare documents to sign. See our guides to the Oman business visa and how long a business visa takes.
