Frequently asked questions

How long does a company amendment take in Oman?

Simple amendments can be processed within days once documents are signed. Changes involving overseas shareholders or new approvals take longer.

Can I transfer shares in an Omani LLC to a foreign investor?

Yes, if the company's activities allow foreign ownership at the resulting percentage, and the articles' transfer provisions are followed.

Do I need to update the bank after an amendment?

Yes. Banks require updated CR and articles, and new KYC for new shareholders or signatories.

How long does a share transfer take in Oman?

Once documents are signed, the MOCIIP filing usually takes a few working days; updating the bank and other authorities takes longer.

Do other shareholders have to agree to a share transfer?

Existing shareholders may have pre-emption rights under the law and the articles, so their position must be addressed before transfer.
